Zumba

Zumba

What is Zumba?

Zumba is an official fitness program that combines cardio fitness and Latin-inspired dance. This program also offers additional kinds of workouts ranging from strength training to kids’ programs.

Do I have to be a “good” dancer?

You don't have to be a dancer AT ALL! Zumba choreography is repetitive & designed to be built upon, so you will be able to catch on quickly as the song progresses!

What are the benefits?

Other than having an absolute blast, Zumba has all kinds of benefits including, but not limited to:

• Improved cardiovascular health

• Building strength, coordination, & agility

• Enhanced muscular fitness

• Boosts mood & energy

• Increases stamina

What are things to consider?

• Zumba is a fitness class & can sometimes be very intense as it is a non-stop activity. Stay hydrated!

• While this is a fitness class & injuries may happen, Zumba has built the program with these things in mind.

The exercises vary in intensity depending on the class level to reduce potential risks.

• Be sure to wear the appropriate attire. This is for your safety! Consider wearing comfortable clothing & supportive, secure close-toed shoes.

Vinyasa Yoga

What is "Vinyasa" Yoga?

Vinyasa is a style of yoga that uses breathing techniques to string various postures together in a seamless manner.

Do I need to be flexible to do this style of Yoga?

While flexibility is helpful, it is by no means required or necessary! This varying style of yoga is beginner friendly too!

What are the benefits?

There are MANY benefits! Including, but not limited to:

• Builds strength, balance, & flexibility

• Achieve relaxation & stress reduction

• Improves cardiovascular health

• Improves body alignment & posture

• Increase breathing capacity

What are things to consider?

• Vinyasa is a variable style of yoga, meaning no 2 classes are alike. This prevents injuries caused by repetitive movements!

• This is a movement based yoga where each posture connects & transitions to the next. Unlike fixed-form based styles that “break” exploration by coming out of a posture.

• Vinyasa puts emphasis on breathing & uses it to not only guide your movement, but to improve concentration & focus.

• While yoga is used for relaxation and mindfulness, don't forget that this is also a physical activity. Stay hydrated!

• Due to the fluid nature of this style, some classes may be more challenging than others, and vice versa. The beauty is also in embracing change which is reflected in the movements as well as in life.
