Music Lessons at Asbury Arts Center
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When and how often do lessons meet? Our private or semi-private lessons usually meet once per week at the same time each week for a 1/2 hour session. That makes 4 lessons per month per monthly tuition payment.
What kind of lessons do you offer? Our students most often study piano, percussion, guitar and voice. We also have students who occasionally sign up for violin or other string instruments. We occasionally offer woodwind and brass lessons, but those are based on instructor availability.
How much are private lessons? You will always want to check the session that we are currently in for tuition prices, but our private music lessons run about $100 month ($25/lesson) If 2 students use the 1/2 time spot together it is $120/month split between the students. Tuitions are paid monthly in even installments with the exception of summer session which is paid in one lump sum or 2 installments.
Is there a registration fee for music students? There is an annual registration fee to secure your lesson time for our school year session. There is no registration for our 6 week summer session.
Is there a music recital? Yes. We hold an end of school year session music recital in June every year. It is separate from our formal dance recital, and it usually held at a nearby elementary or junior high school. Our music recital has free admission and is a very relaxed and easy going atmosphere. It is not mandatory, but most students enjoy taking part in it.
Are there any other fees? There is a recital fee due each year on April 1st. It can be found on students signed policies agreement and on our website tuitions/policies page. We assume all music students will participate in recital unless the family opts out by notifying the main office.
What happens if a music student needs to miss a lesson? We ask for a 6 hour notification of cancellation in the event a student will not be able to make it to their lesson to avoid the lesson charge for that day. We schedule special make up days through-out the year for students to take a make up lesson for days they have missed that were not charged. When a teacher has to miss a lesson, we automatically re-schedule a make up lesson. It no make-up lesson can be schedule, a credit will be applied to student's account.
Do you offer group classes for music? We occasionally offer small group classes. You can check our online schedule or or call the office at 904-406-4161 to see what group classes are available.
